Trio Award: Continental Drift by Mai-Linh Hong

BIO: Mai-Linh Hong is a poet and literary scholar. Her debut poetry collection, Continental Drift, won the 2025 Trio Award and will be published by Trio House Press in 2026. Poems from the collection are published or forthcoming in Copper Nickel, The Minnesota Review, Wildness, ANMLY, They Rise Like a Wave: An Anthology of Asian American Women Poets (Blue Oak Press, 2022), and elsewhere. Her poetry has received support from Voices of Our Nation, Tin House, Vermont Studio Center, and Elk River Writers Workshop. Dr. Hong is coauthor and coeditor of The Auntie Sewing Squad Guide to Mask Making, Radical Care, and Racial Justice (University of California Press, 2021). Born in Vietnam and raised in Virginia, she teaches literature at the University of California, Merced.

Bogan Award: Dear Dear by Reuben Gelley Newman

BIO: Reuben Gelley Newman (he/they) is a writer, musician, and librarian trainee based in New York City. He is the author of Dear Dear (Trio House Press, 2026), winner of the 2025 Louise Bogan Award. They also wrote a chapbook, Feedback Harmonies (Seven Kitchens Press, 2024), in homage to the musician Arthur Russell. His poems have appeared in Denver Quarterly, Fairy Tale Review, Salamander, Ninth Letter, and Only Poems, among other journals.

Editor's Choice Award: My Wise Little Ghost by Emily Hyland
BIO: Emily Hyland’s newest collection of poetry, My Wise Little Ghost, is forthcoming with Trio House Press in July 2026. Hyland is the author of Divorced Business Partners: A Love Story (Howling Bird Press, 2024) and Emily: The Cookbook (Ballantine Books, 2018). Her third collection, Post-Mastectomy Poems, will be published by Cornerstone Press in 2027. Hyland is the eponymous co-founder of the international restaurant groups Pizza Loves Emily + Emmy Squared Pizza. She lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where she writes and teaches at Yogasource, a beloved local studio that she co-owns and directs.
